My 02 Allroad has 30,000 miles and I had a driver side blowout Sat night. Discount tire says I need 4 new tire because there is > than 3/32's difference between tread wear on the new tire and the other three existing tires. They say if I don't replace all of them I could cause future damage to the transmission. Any comments or similar problems?? Please help

If you are running either stock goodyear or pirelli, I have both available for cost of shipment...
Yes, they should be replaced as a complete set. The allroad isn't as sensitive to this a say a Subaru, where you will truly tear the driveline to pieces with different size tires...

What kind of tires are they? Most of us have take on the OEM tires by need by 20K.
By they way..DT is right 30K of wear + new on a quattro is to big a difference in the rolling circumfrence.

Quattro doesn't like different diameter tires. How much it doesn't like it is debated as is how much difference is okay.

Recent allroad talk....

OEM Pirellis.
However, I'd explore MUDI's tires first, if he's willing to let them go for shipping only.

if that helps get the car on the road. Cheaper than all 4 and gives you some time to shop around and buy what you want...
