Default tire size ? - assume price is right, I'm running 16" winter wheels on the ar and will need new tires

for winter next year. Old is 215/65/16. New 225/60/16. I'm thinking to bite. Any reason not to?

Stock Tire - 215/65R16
Tire 1 - 225/60R16

Section Width: 8.46 in 215 mm
Section Width: 8.85 in 225 mm

Rim Diameter: 16 in 406.4 mm
Rim Diameter: 16 in 406.4 mm

Rim Width Range: 6 - 7.5 in
Rim Width Range: 6 - 9 in

Overall Diameter: 27.00 in 685.8 mm
Overall Diameter: 26.62 in 676.14 mm

Sidewall Height: 5.50 in 139.7 mm
Sidewall Height: 5.31 in 134.87 mm

Default Most importantly, new tire looks like it fits on the OE wheel width.

You should feel a little better performance cornering with slightly lower profile.

You can report the adjusted tire circumference (with VAG-Com?) to correct the speedo/odo.

Default You'll get better winter traction with the narrower tire; air 'em up to 38-40 psi.

Inflate the 215/65/16 to 38-40 psi (44 psi max?) and they'll handle great. With great traction when mounted on the heavy allroad.

Default Too much impact harshness at those pressures, I found , as opposed to the

summer Falkens that I run at 39-40 with no problem. The current WS-50 215 mm snows are less compliant. I found some Nokian WR in the 225 width for next year at a great cost and am buying now.
