LOL -- "so much power". Our allroad's like a neutered, arthritic dog compared to my S4.

Default Audi figures in some emergency situations if someone was.......

in a high gear in Tip mode he may need all the acceleration the car can provide without having to take their hands off the wheel to down-shift.

You don't have to take your hands off the wheel to downshift.

Default not mine. it stays until you slow down past the usability of the gear then downshifts

go have Dayne at Momentum look at your TCM

Default That was the reason I did not get the Tip on the S4...

but I think that there may be a cure. I believe that the gas pedal can be floored or floored past a some kind of resistance - lamost like a button under the pedal. I believe that flooring it pastthat button overrides manual setting. Se if you can figure it out.
