2002 107,000 miles. Many thanks to you all, and especially the Allroader in Boulder who led me to a replacement module in Canada.
Just some information for you all about symptoms that were noted prior to failure.... there were NONE. I just came out to the car one late February morning, turned on the key and saw all the icons displayed associated with safe mode operation. The Audi tech said that plugged AC drain lines occasionally saturated the passenger side footwell with water, where the TCM is located. But not mine, it looked factory new when we removed it. Anyhow, the replacement module put the car back into great operation. Note: I sent the original TCM to Auto & Truck Electronics in West Palm Beach FL in hopes of a ressurection of the unit. They returned it simply stating they could establish no communication with the module. I specifically told them this is what the Audi dealership had experienced. They took alcohol and completely wiped all the part numbers on the TCM, when I called them they said they never do that, and that they let an employee go the week they had it. Draw your own conclusions, there are plenty of good reports on them on Ebay. Thanks again all!
