Default transmission leak

I have a trans leak from the top of the transmission behind the trans pan, I assume it is leaking from a vent? Any ideas what would cause this?

If it's really leaking from a vent on top of the trans, then it is either too full of fluid or the internal pressure is getting too high. Have you checked the fluid level? Does it happen only under certain conditions, like sustained high speed/load driving? The fluid may be getting too hot due to driving conditions, and then going out the vent.

it's definitely not too full. It leaks just idling. I have had to add fluid because it leaks. Hard to overfill it too the way you have to fill it.
