Default Turbo lag on 2001 2.7T....

My wife and I just purchased a 2001 Allroad with the 2.7T biturbo. (nice ride) I have the 2002 A4 with the 3.0. I have read a few write ups and it appears well documented on the hesitation on kickdown. I'm looking for feedback on what others have done to help improve that. TIA

Default That's not turbo lag....

... What people were talking about was Tip lag or the hesitation between the time they mash the throttle and the time that the tranny hooked up. Not much turbo lag on these motors, at least not enough to ever be noticed by me. But then again, I drive a 6-speed manual.

It would be quite simple to fix. It's just that Audi doesn't care.

Doesn't a "Tip Chip" fix this?

Is it a 6 speed or tip?

Default Actually it is very fixable...

Get the GIAC TIP CHIP.. it reprograms your tranny to shift faster and smoother. This is what others have indicated. I drive a 6 speed. So it's second hand. The A6 2.7T guys too use it..

Default no need for a tip chip.. recode the tip to 00032, stock is 00002... 00032 holds revs better

so there's less of a need to mash the pedal to hunt for gears...it's like night and day
