Great descriptions.

The reason for my thoughts on it being easy to check the CVs was due to a post I read somewhere talking about bringing the car out of a cold-start scenario then pulling the SAI hose. If the car is then started and you feel air through that SAI output hose the valves are sticking open (assuming the solenoid is working as it should).

Fortunately mine is pretty uncommon to whine. I should still have a bit of time before codes start popping up everywhere.

Well, that was a great data dump. Thanks all for contributing. I am having the SAI replaced while doing some other wishlist items as well.

I'd get some piggie pipes, remove the SAI pump, and a flash to code out the SAI pump.
Unless you live in Cali, then don't do that.
