Update to problem with Up/Down shifting into 2nd gear...
I took me Allroad into the dealer last week and they determined that there was a problem with the synchros. They had to order some parts and I should be getting the car back tomorrow!
They were also very willing to put the MT-90 fluid in, which I had sitting on the passenger seat.
Will provide another update after get the car back on the road.

these are the culprits, i have worked out that problem twice on my allroad already without going to
<center><img src="http://www.taner.net/s4/synchro_slider-crop.jpg"></center><p>dealer just by driving at about 5 mph and working back and forth between 1st and 2nd and cleaning the burrs off

Got my Allroad back and it is shifting like butter.....
No more grinding, shifts nice and smooth.
If your 6 speed is grinding in 2nd gear, take it to the dealership and have the fix it.
