VA/DC/MD Allroad Purchase

Well after 18 months of research and flip flopping back and forth between the A6 and the AR, my practical side has taken over. So, I have a new Allroad in my very near future, but I need help. I just got back from the dealer where I was given a quote of $2318 over invoice (by my calculation) on a 2002, which is ~ $150 under Edmund's TMV. At face value that seems like a pretty good deal, but when I read some of the other posts it sounds high. They didn't have the one I wanted so the salesman wrote up the quote and is going to search for one, does this hurt my bargaining power? Is that price high for the VA/DC/MD area, or any major metropolitan area?
Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Allroad is great. If you want to spend more, for more speed but less winter capability, Rockville has a silver S6 wagon. It is awesome.
At HBL see Pat Driscol. He is always ready to make a deal. At Rockville see Torsten Shultz. He is a great guy also and will work hard to earn your business. Criswell's has a stripped down one with 39,000 sticker.
Should be able to get one that stickers in @ 47,500 for like 45,000.

My experience just 11 days ago on the opposite coast was $1500 over invoice with a dealership not exactly known as a "discount warehouse". They did have a large inventory of '02 allroads though.
This amount over invoice represents about 3.7 percent over the invoice price.
Using hindsight, a more useful tool for bargaining might be to suggest a certain percentage over his invoice price. Ask to see the invoice on the car you are interested in.
Had I to do it over again, 3 percent over invoice would, in my mind, be about right for the car.
As an aside, a week and a half with allroad, and it exceeds all my expectations; just past the 1000 mile mark. A fabulous ride and does it get lots of attention.
