valvoline mercon v atf meets "esso lt-71411" specs?
ok i am new to the forum and helping my in laws with their allroad. i am thinking of changing the atf and filter and saw the linked letter. the tranny has about 70,000 miles on it and i am either going with the pentosin or febi bilstein atf from worldimpex (at $9L x 6 = $54 plus shipping) versus this valvoline (2.50 x 6 = $15 and it's local). not that much difference in price for something that should last at least another 30 to 60,000 miles. Any insight or experience appreciated.
btw I changed to redline d4 in our passat 4motion tip last summer and it has worked great, it is just a pain in the butt to get.

http://www.e38.org/Mercon%20V%20ATF%20Letter.pdf</a

I'd recommend sticking with the OE fluids (Pentosin or Febi Bilstein) or going with a high quality aftermarket synthetic like the Redline D4ATF or Motul Dexron III. They're pretty easy to find; I can point you in the right direction if you decide to go that way.
