I have a stuck Viscous fan on an Audi 2002 2.5 TDI allroad.
Before I use scaffold poles extending my 32mm spanners to undo can someone confirm if it is a left or right handed thread?
I have found conflicting information !
When standing looking at the fan from the front of the car do I turn the nut on the actual fan side left or right to undo !
Thanks

Don't know about the TDI. My 2.7 is reverse for sure. Removed it yesterday. Is the pulley that is attached to the fan smooth or ribbed? If it is ribbed, like mine, then I am willing to bet that it will be reverse. If it is smooth, runs on back of belt and will spin in opposite direction, it should be standard thread.
So for a reverse thread, the wrench needs to go towards the drivers side of the car. Or atleast that is how it worked on my 2.7

Success
It was a normal thread to remove the viscous fan from the 2002 2.5tdi allroad
Left or anticlockwise on the fan nut to undo
It was so tight I extended my 32mm spanners by using scaffold poles with the ends of the scaffold poles cut as the photo. I did not therefore need to cut the end off the spanners to make them fit inside the poles.
Thanks
