Default Well, I know that people knock the allroad brakes, But...

Last night on the way home from the store with the family in the car. Bambi decided to try and play frogger 20ft in front of us. The allroad slowed very quickly while we watched her run across the road. We we only doing ~30-35 and had room to stop. In the last year both my Mom and my Brother have hit deer in the same area. Hope that was my "hit" and maybe I will have good karma for at least a year or so.
Enjoy the weekend all.

I agree people routinely loose their dentures and glass eyes when they drive with me.

Default I'm not overly impressed with them in stop and go traffic

Yes, when you really hit them hard for an emergency stop, they are very good. But they aren't as linear as I would like. Mine seem a bit touchy as they don't grip as well as I would like under light and moderate braking... but then they grip a bit too well all at once.

Just my opinion.

Default My brakes grind, but work fine. Not like the pads are shot, but like the rotors are rusty...

...although they're not. The rotors were turned (not replaced? WTF?) when I bought the car 2000 miles ago under CPO. And I have huge amounts of brake dust. Grinding only occurs under light braking. Heavy braking is quiet.

Any ideas?

I've experienced that, too. Touchy on light application, not so much on heavy.

Default You guys need the hp-2 calipers, with good pads they are much more linear.

EX-pzKW Cdr thinks my allroad has soft feeling brake pedal compared to his because you can very input pressure much more then single piston calipers.

Could be pad difference also which did improve from stock pads but I don't think that is all the difference.

I agree, I think that is a pad thing, not a brake thing.
