Default What a difference......

The dealer changed the clutch switch today and I am getting some nice power shifts without annoying rev. What was happening is after pushing to 4000 and up, removing my foot from the gas and then depressing the clutch, the engine would rev 200 to 400 rpm and then go down. This was really annoying.

By the way.....Free coverage under CPO warranty, and no deductible.....

I am happy!

Default That's not a bad clutch That's a clutch position sensor failure

there is a sensor attached to the cluthc pedal that closes the throttle quickly when you depress the clutch to keep that very thing form happening

Default This part is called "clutch switch"....

I never talked about bad clutch..... It was failing and they changed the switch> In the work order it is called a clutch switch and not a sensor.....

Default in Audi lingo...

some switches are sensors as well. They "sense" a position or change and switch a parameter.

Default Re: in Audi lingo...

I understand that.... It is just the way this part is officially called. Now we could have a philosophical discussion about the difference betweeen a switch and a sensor..... (like a switch has a finite number of positions it can detect, a sensoe return a value (like a temperature sensor).....

You're all wrong: black allroads have switches, tan have sensors ;-)
