Default What is this diverter valve?

I started experiencing some drivability problems with my 2002 alroad, looked for clues and found one diverter valve to have loose fitting on the boost side where it screws into the valve body. And the two halves of the valve were not tightly screwed together. I tightened both connections and this appeared to fix the problem. Today the symptoms gradually returned, the acceleration is not smooth and jerking at constant speed. The valve is all aluminum, two-parts fluted black anodized body body and it is a piston type valve, no diaphram. There are 0802 markings on the body and nothing else. I could not find anything like that on the web. Any ideas what kind of valve it is?
