Serious question. As more manufacturers seem to copy what their rivals are doing, and even Audi sibling VW is getting competitive, what is it that makes an Audi an Audi?

Obviously, the German engineering is important. Whichever model you drive, it performs effortlessly. The details show considerable thought from a designer who also is an enthusiast. As well, I think Audi incorporates a cohesive sense of style (all the design fits together) and in most models, this style is understated. I don't know if another manufacturer combines all these qualities.

I've owned three in the last seven years, and in each case, I was tempted by a competing car from two other German manufacturers. Yet living in the upper Midwest, I really didn't have any rational choices. I need statewide winter mobility in my job and these cars give it to me. And they are a blast to drive the remainder of the year. Of course, I also love how subtle they are: Audis just don't scream "look at me" like some other marques do, which is very important in my relationships with my customer base.

THe TT is one of those few cars that is complete in it's design. Look at the interior, no parts bin switches etc that you get in most cars. Purpose built heated seat *****, window switches and the airvents. All following the design and making it one sharp car.
This follows through to a lesser extent on the other cars in the lineup.
