Default What's the best way to get adhesive off the matte finish?

My allroad has lines of adhesive along the edges of where the protective plastic was that it shipped with. I'm afraid to use any solvents (and obviously, polishes) on the matte finish.

Also, any ideas on protecting the matte finishes?

Thanks

I've always used baby oil and haven't seen any adverse effects.

Default The dealership uses 3m adhesive remover...

As we diddnt' want the dealership detailing the car after delivery, we broght it home and used the same stuff. Works quite well.

Default try Goo Gone

its a citrus based oily solvent that won't ruin the matte finish...use a spray wax to wipe up.
