Prefer a premium quality battery with 5-6 year life.
Do any electronics have to be reset after battery reconnection?
I just found this REMY Deka at $144 discounted down from about $185.
Any experience?
Specifications:
Group Size: 49
DIN Size: H8
Cranking Amps (CA): 1035
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA): 900
Ah Rate (20 Hr): 95
Dimensions:

Width: 6 15/16"

Agreed on the Interstate MTP-H7...
I paid $160 at an Interstate DEALER last week in a northwest suburb of Chicago. He wanted $169.xx and I told him I'd be happy with a $160 price.
Subsequently I read here that if you call an Interstate DISTRIBUTOR the price will be much lower...perhaps in the $115 range.
Regardless, this new "-H7" is big and powerful. It fit on the battery tray when the hold down clamp was moved out a couple locations from where it had been (apparently, I had a smaller than normal battery there previously). I suggest removing the plastic plenum shroud to make things easier.
And while I was at it, I removed the four screws holding the battery tray in position to gain access to the plenum drain location under that tray. I then cleaned away accummulated debris from that drain.

Wow my Deka wasn't that much, couple years now no problems. Bought an Optima >>>
red top at the same time +/- a week, for my sons '03 GTI 1.8T. Just had it replaced, what a POS.

I put the MTP-H7 in a 2.7T...
It seems Interstate thinks the bigger battery is better for the turbo. Is the compression higher on the 2.7T, thus requiring the greater CCA.
Anyway...bigger is fine, or better. You can never have too much CCA. As long as it fits the battery compartment and your pockets are deep enough, the MTP-H7 is great.
Select the A6 2.7T in the Interstate web site to get specs.
And BTW, the battery I got last week was a black body, not the translucent white as shown in the photos or reported elsewhere. I'm rather certain Varta made the white one, but I'm not sure about the black one.
The MTP-H7 has a 3 year full replacement warranty.
