The allroad uses a low offset wheel (ET) due to the unique wheel bearing housing geometry. When fitting wheels with higher offsets, spacers are generally the rule. This link should be of some help:

Would I be in danger of hurting anything if I put the new wheels on as is and took it for a drive? Assuming of course I looked over the clearance first for obvious rubbing spots

The common interferance area is the front wheel bearing housing (a.k.a. "upright") to the inner wheel lip. ET25 is the allroad offset with the 7.5 width wheel. Wider wheels and higher offset is going to close the gap or cause an interfernace. You will probably not be able to spin the wheel if you tighten the lug bolts.

Are offsets on wheels such as ET38 measured in millimeters...so et30 versus et38 sticks out 8mm more
