Default wheel offsets,

ok so i recently bought an 03 allroad and am looking into wheel options and trying to decide which route i want to go.

sounds like 245-45-18 are a really popular size, and from the posts i've read with an et range from 15mm to 30mm on an 8.5 wide wheel no rubbing has occured. usuing these same figures if they are true running a 9 inch wide wheel with an et of 25mm the wheel would be at the same points as the max inbound spacing from the 8.5 et 30 on the outer lip would sit in the same spot as the et15 wheel. anybody run higher or lower offsets without rubbing.

thanks

9 inch wide with ET 35mm should be fine. No rubbing.

I may be a little off on the offset, but Moto-one runs 9's and a bunch are running 8.5 with ET 35mm

Default Re: wheel offsets,

I have spent about a week researching this topic and still am unsure if I'm doing the right thing. I decided on 18 in. X 8 rims with 245/45 tires. The et is 25mm. If that is the same offset as standard 17 inch wheels, it is going to be a close fit. I'm now expecting that I'll have to use a 10 mm spacer to end up with enough inside clearance. Any comments?
