So... let's just say I happened to have an AR with the 3-D wheels. And let's just say that YOU had an AR with the standard 5-spokers. Would it be a fair to swap the wheels with each other (assuming wheels and tires in good shape), or would one of us come out ahead (as the 3-d's are considered an 'upgrade' - to the dealership, at least).

If "you" wanted the standard wheels, "they" wanted the 3D, more then either wanted their own wheels, then it would be a straight swap I would think..

However if one really wanted the 3D wheel, and the other could "deal" with the stock wheel, then maybe the person whom originally had the 3D wheel could ask for a few bucks

if not, and you thinking about a swap, I might be willing to trade my standard wheels just for a change of pace. I don't think I would pay to 'upgrade.' Transaction costs would be enough of a price.

Well, I'm in negotiations for an AR that currently is shod with the 3d's and I prefer the base 5-spokers. Oestensibly, as 'premium wheels' is an option that determines ultimate sales price when reselling a car, this swap potentially means a change in selling price of your vehicle. That being said, I'm CERTAINLY not looking to make any money on the transaction (I'm of the opinion that a base swap would be fine), but I wasn't aware of the current thoughts on the subject in the group.
