Default Wheels and Tyres (again)

Hi everyone...

I still have the OE 17" 7.5J ET25 rims with 225/55R17 tires on my allroad.

I want to put on OE RS6 9 spoke 18" 8.5J ET30 rims on the car...

a) will this work - ie has anyone done this before?
b) what size spacers?
c) What size tires - 235/50R18 , 245/45R18 or 255/40R18
d) is there anythings else to consider, or be weary of?

Thanks
Richard

Default There should be an OEM 18 RS6-look wheel from Clairparts that is ET 20..

I believe. Otherwise, there is a chance your ET30 wheels will fit, but you may need a 5mm spacer. Honestly, I didn't have a good experience with spacers, but I'd try it again, perhaps with an Eibach german spacer. FYI, there is an OEM 5 spoke RS6 "winter" wheel available, but it is 18 x 7.5 with an ET20. This is what I have. And to keep gearing/speedo the same, I went with the 4.2 ar size tire, 245 45 18, which is what I would recommend either way you go. Clair:
ALLOY RS4 Wheel 8.5J x 18 ET 20
Part No.: 8D0-601-025-T-1H7
Clair Price: $ 468.55

Default If you end up going replicas be very careful of what you are getting there has been a shift to

China production from many of the so called Italian companies.(Many of the vendors of the wheels don't even know of this change.) We received a shipment of these wheels and found them to be two to three ounces out of balance before putting a tire on. We also found the center bores to be inconsistent in size. Needless to say we won't sell them to any of our customers. This would be detrimental to the already problematic Allroad.

http://www.hartmannwheels.com</a

Default Re:I'm running this size wheel with 5mm spacers (replica not OEM)

Tires are 245/45/18. It's a close fit but hasn't been a problem. 10mm spacer is probably a better size.

Thanks - no I am getting a used set (25000km) of OE RS6 wheels, so they should be ok.

Why do you say the allroad is problematic - is there something I should be weary of?

It looks like I'll get these wheels, put pn 10mm spacers and the 245/45/18's on.

Cheers
Rich
