Default where arre tie-down points on allroad for a canoe on roof-rack

The allroad does not appear to have tie-down points in the front or back to tie down the bow and stern of a canoe on a roof rack, so that the canoe will remain properly aligned on the highway. Does anyone have experience with this?

Good question. I have an allroad on order and plan on carrying 20' plus kayaks requiring tie-down. I have searched for tie down points every time I've looked at the allroad to no avail. I figured once I took delivery I'd find a place around the "skid plates" to attach a U-Bolt. Worst case I plan on drilling a few holes. Let me know if you find a better solution.

Default There is a removable towing eye, that you can fit at the front.

You remove the one of the grills in the front airdam and there is a socket for it. It's described in the owners manual.

Regarding tie-down points for a canoe: the twoing eye in front is off-center. It looks like only options for a centered (or 2 symmetric off-center) tie-down would be to use webbing (e.g. like a seatbelt material) which the hood and rear door can close over, with some kind of anchor in the back. In the front maybe the webbing can tie around the bumber, and then pass through the hood closure. A rope tied from the webbing to a canoe looks like it might work, but would transmit some force to the latches involved. The towing hitch in back ($600 plus?) should be an alternative for the rear. These are the only possibilities I see at the moment. Thanks for the responses.
