Did some hiking for turns Thanksgiving weekend - WOOT!

Winded me but it was sure nice to get away from the lift lines...

haven't been up this season (yet) but i'd go with castle peak (I-80) or mt. tallac (south shore by emerald bay) for easy access "backcountry".
