Windshield base tray adhesive question...
'04 6 speed with 65k. My friend's car was leaking water into the rear floor through the heat/AC vent. Searched here. I found the cabin filter soaked and the plastic tray detached from the windshield. What type of adhesive or tape is used to reattach the tray to the windshield? Should I use something from Audi, a marine product, glass shop..? Thanks, C.

U should be able to use ABS Adheesive from a place like Lowe's or Home Depot. It comes in a small can, it's black and has aplicator on inside of cap, and should / will be in the area where you'd find ABS pluming pipes, fittins, etc. The folks there will know what it is if you don't. If it works for ABS pluming, Is should work fine on your ABS plastic fix.

I'm reattaching the tray to the glass. Are you talking about something other than solvent bonding pipe cement? C.

Seems like that would be a one-time shot and might permanently damage the tray. I thought solvent bonding was only for joining like materials. Are you talking about something thick or thin like PVC/ABS cement? I figured it was some sort of sticky butyl product or a tape like what is used on door moldings. It's hard to tell what the original stuff was. C.
