to make a long story short...
recently purchased CPO'd 2001 6sp allroad from Minnessota and had it delivered to TN. after a very dry summer, it finally rained hard, passenger floor was covered in water. so, i took the allroad into the dealer to have a look. after inspecting the firewall drains, roof rails and sunroof, the problem ended up being the windshield seals. the testing method used was a mix of a garden hose and pressurized air to find the leaks. apparently before i took possession of the car, the windshield had been replaced with non-OEM glass. as the service rep told me it was non-OEM glass and a problem with the shoddy installation, there is nothing they could do for me. so, they referred me to a body/glass specialist in town. after having them look at it. they gave me an estimate of 550 for new glass and a new install. according to the guy i talked to, the seals and insulation are bonded to the glass and removing it would ruin them leading to the necessity of new glass. this is the fourth time that i've needed to take the ar in for "repairs" in the first 3 months of ownership, not to mention a problem with the title that took over 90 days to resolve.
so, i emailed the dealership that i got the car from. they were obviously apologetic and polite. however, they were only willing to meet me half way on the repair price. after calling AOA to inquire about this policy, they told me that their only recourse was to call the dealer and talk to them about the issue. but, in the end the certification process is totally handled by the dealer and AOA have no part in it.
this is my third CPO'd audi, and i understand these are not new cars. however, this ar has had a lot of issues to have been sold as a CPO'd car. to date, i've had bad tie-rod ends, bad alignment, off center steering wheel, driver's side window out of the rails, 3-light syndrome, a mis-installed pcv valve, and a lot of oddly fitting trim pieces inside the car. carfax shows no wrecks or anything, the dealer have been pretty cool with helping on the first round of problems, and AOA have been nice, but less than helpful. my worry is that this car is in for more problems in the near term. any ideas on next steps???
sorry for the long message, but i'm getting a bit frustrated and am starting to really miss my s4 which now seems like a much more "reliable" car.![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
thanks in advance.

Carfax typically only shows when the car was titled as being totalled, salvaged, or stolen. Carfax doesn't replace a vehicle inspection. The dealer does have a point, if the windshield is aftermarket, and it was installed Audi doesn't have to cover the repair.

If you quote the CPO website of AoA back to customer care, you will have a case.
Accodording to the website and all marketing materials, the CPO is a 300+ point inspection which you are supposed to feel comforted by its occurence.
CPO sucks as a marketing tool and an inspection process. It is a realtivly good service/warranty policy.
But like all used cars is up to us to give it the once over.
However you probably have a legal case against the dealership for fraud as the car was not inpected according to the rules and expectations of CPO.
Did you get the inspections report?

I did get the inspection reports.
Everything turned up to be on the up and pu. Unfortunately, being in TN left me with little ability to go and check out perspective 6sp ar's. So, I took a leap of faith on the CPO'd car from Minnessota. I'm leaning towards the car having been wrecked at some point. When working underneath it, the belly pan wasn't mating up quite correctly where it separates into two pieces, also the trim around the hood and wheel flares are a little off on one side. All of which makes me feel relatively uncomfortable with keeping it. I do love the allroad, but these issues seem to be the beginning of a can of worms. If I do have the car inspected and find that it has been wrecked, is there anything that I can do about that? thanks .j.

OEM glass used (even by dealers). One doesn't have anything to do with the other, IMO.
Seems to me, MN dealer certified car. Last time i checked, aftermarket glass should not be part of a certified car, if it is, they should stnad behind it functioning like oem glass. glass leaks. glass should be replaced by MN dealer.

Did you get a welcome letter from AOA? On that letter is the e-mail address of someone at the executive level of AOA that should be able to help. They helped me put pressure on the dealer to correct any issues -- in this case it sounds like you should go for a buyback.
If you don't have the letter, shoot me an e-mail.
