And while I sold the allroad (can't support AOA anylonger). I do need a good box for my XC90.

Just not sure what the various options are and how they rank.

I've made 2 trips here recently that required me to pack the vehicle full and i'm tired of that game. so I want more available storage space, so that my dogs can actually stay in the car, vs having to be strapped to the roof

both Thule and Yakima make great boxes, narrow your selection, what are you looking for in a box?

Default too hold stuff.. Seriously what criteria should I have? This is the first time I've even

thought about buying something like that.

something secure
well built
Something that is somewhat aerodynamic
something with a fairly straight forward attaching mechanism

what else?

Default Look at Yakima and Thule, dunno if there is any real difference. I went w/ Yakima because...

...the local REI sells 'em.

Default Just missed the 20% off Thule at REI. I got their brand new box (Atlantis) and really like it...

Thanks for the visit. (I know nothing about these, though.)

Default Many boxes are too short to hold skis, if that matters.

They're too short for old-school long boards like I have, anyway. :-)
