Crazy thing is that if such a program existed, the battery would be so expensive you might as well just get the new car!

They would create Audi loyalists for life though. But how about upgrading my MMI 1 to an MMI 3 first.

Any markup with your 2023 e-tron?
I am in this very same position. My wife's eTron S Sportback is finally at the dealer, and I'm contemplating giving up to let them sell it to someone on the waitlist. My guess is that I'm balancing:
+significantly longer range, addressing the primary concern that I have with the vehicle
-significantly more expensive and heavier for the equivalent trim level
The car looks shockingly similar to the current model. I thought they would do more to distinguish it in light of the name change/reclassification.

The Q8e 55 is the chef's kiss (hopefully). It may very well end up being a rare example of a perfect car if the minor MMI bugs have been worked out, and it goes 300+ on a charge with me driving it. Seriously, those are the only two complaints that I have about my 2022. Mediocre range and minor MMI bugs. Fix those and it's a perfect car.

Yep, the 2024 Q8e 50 could just as easily be called the 2024 e-tron. The stated range will be more like 250 miles due to the revised battery management system and better aerodynamics, but it's the same 95 kW battery.

It's no wonder braking is different. When you start braking using the brake pedal the car is using regen to slow the car, switching to the mechanical brake only when you do a full hard press. I don't think the action of regen will ever feel the same as mechanical. Also, the etron weighs, what, 5000lbs?

If I had a 2023 coming in January, I would absolutely wait for the 2024. I bought a 2022 at the end of July and I kind of wish I had waited. It would have only been another 12-13 months. At the time, I figured that the Q8e was still a couple of years away. Had I known that it was exactly one year away, I would have waited.
At this point, I am just hoping that the resale value of my 2022 doesn't crater between now and next summer.
