Charging Cable Recall 93U6/23V842
Looks like there's a new recall. I have a 2019 e-tron (US-based). I wonder what years are affected.
My interpretation is that it is of little concern if you use a different EVSE.
Dec 19, 2023
DESCRIPTIONIf a 220V/240V wall plug becomes overburdened when the compact/portable charging system cable is being used to charge the high-voltage batteries in your vehicle, the home wiring can become overheated. If this happens, overheating of the home infrastructure can eventually cause permanent damage to the house socket and charging cable, increasing the risk of a fire.

I hope mine is included. My EVSE cable gets dangerously hot if I run it at 100% power. I’ve measured temperatures of 180-190° f on the plug.
I only use it for 120v charging, to risky to charge at 220/240 volts. I purchased a Wallbox EVSE and no heat buildup at all running at 40amps. I don’t need the Audi EVSE but it would be nice to have it as a backup/travel unit.
I have a 2019 prestige
edit: just checked NHTSA.gov and my car is included in the recall

my Wallbox EVSE at 40 amps gets slightly above ambient temperature but no where near hot.
this is also not the first recall on this unit. They already “fixed” it once by telling owners to only run it at 50%
there is a lot of discussion about overheating Audi EVSE’s in this thread:

My '21 e-tron is still on my MyAudi (even though I returned the lease last week) and I got the notice. Didn't get it for my '22 e-tron S, though the Audi supplied charger is noticeably different.
