So my electronic driver door operator is broken and only does clicking noises when I try to open the door. Is there a manual override to open the door?

Yes, check in your manual. The door handle has an end-cap you can pry off using the tip of your physical key that is embedded in your fob (press the silver button and pull on the fob keychain ring). Underneath the end cap is a physical key hole you can use.

Thx. Yes that's how I got to open the door, I have the trim off for now, hope rain doesn't damage it.. It sucks that the interior key slot is actually hidden so I can't open it from inside manually. It keeps telling me there is an lock mechanism issue and is now unsafe to drive. Well I have to drive it to the dealer, how am I supposed to do that....

I am, most unfortunately, 400 miles from home. So I will have to drive it back. I'm just puzzled at the lack of an internal manual override. Or at least one that is easily accessible. What happens in an accident where the door losses power?

Like I posted above and like what owner's manual screen shot says, you just pull the interior door handle all the way (past the normal electric opening detent).

Nothing happens with a full pull. Something deep inside broken. Anyway its at the dealer now and they are poking around.

Could you please help how can we unlock the door with manual physical key. I have AUDI A6 3.0 TDI QUATTRO AUTO (2007-08). It would be great if you can help out. I actually need help where to turn the physical after inserting into the slot.

I already tried right , left rotation but it is not working.
