Default Is this paint job acceptable?

I got my 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron door repainted at an Audi certified bodyshop. The outside looks great. It's the inside around the edges that has so many imperfections. The bodyshop said it's because of sealant and solvent. My other 3 doors with factory paint don't have these imperfections. Is this acceptable, or a competent bodyshop can do a better job than this?

Show those photos to a painter who does good work and their head will explode. That's poor workmanship, and it doesn't matter that it's not on the exterior of the vehicle. You can still see it every time you open the door. If you try to sell that car later a prospective buyer will almost certainly whine about it, so it would probably be a good idea if you get it taken care of now.

If it sealant as they claim, then they just painter over everything without prepping the surface. The one image shows cracks which is just going to cause more problems down the road. So it would be best to make them fix it now.

Did the body shop paint on new panels or did they try and repair the damaged areas. To, the pics seem to show poor body work.

The body work looks poor. It’s like putting lipstick on a pig.

Actually, after looking at the paperwork, it's a new door.

A whole new door, or just a new outer door skin?
Looks like they just put a new door skin on the old inner door shell, and did a sloppy job of applying sealant to the joint.

I don't know for sure. The line item said "Remove/Replace LT Door shell (ALU), Add for seam sealant (bolt-on component)."

That's some really horrible application of seam sealer. Hacks!
