I thought I was an Audi guy. Turned out, I was a turbo guy, because I damn sure was resigned to replacing my b5 with a bimmer 335. Now, my faith in Audi is restored, and I have a new avant to look forward too. Hale****ingluya;-)

It used to be that S4 out performed the top 3 series model and can go toe to toe with M3. Now it will barely keep pace with 335i. That's not progress. I know "RS" model is supposed to be the ultimate Audi model but I'm a little disapointed that Audi itself holds so little regard for the "S" badge.

the RS is incredibly overpriced. And having an S just isnt all that exclusive anymore. Both the S5 and S4 barely hang with the standard 3, 335.

It seems Audi is not following its motto (well its previous motto) "Never Follow".
It does seems that it has BMW exclusively in its sights. Whats with the Turbo > Na > Turbo jump.
B5S4 > B6/B7S4 > B8 S4
It seems like Audi is just diggin at keepin pace with the 3 series (in certain aspects) The S just doesn't seem so "Special" anymore.

The turbo era S4s were known in auction circles as cars to run, not walk away from. You never knew which had been chipped and then returned to normal before trade in with weakened internals , that led to angry used buyers and much badwill toward Audi and warranty denials . That was their stated reason to dealers starting with the B6 S4 to go normally aspirated to help them out with the problems in the service department, which is still Audi USA's weakest part, IMO.

Sedan B5 S4(250hp) vs Coupe M3 (333hp)... they never really were in the same league...
Had the RS4 always been there, we wouldn't have this confusion...
