Default 1.8t coil conversion

I've been experiencing missing, bucking and hesitating on high boost, high load conditions. This has gotten progressively worse and now I'm experiencing severe bucking at 6psi and above. Therefore, time has come to do the 1.8t coil conversion since the stock coils and POS's have 195k miles on them and are certainly going bad. I went and ordered all of the parts from a local VW dealer today, where, since my friend works there, I have the ability to get parts at wholesale. A couple notes:

1) 06B 905 115R has REPLACED 06B 905 115L. L no longer exists in the system. He told me the R coils have a warranty and can be readily replaced if one fails. However, according to him, the R model should NOT fail. Wonder if this means I can run the 20v cover...hmmmm

2) I used the parts list provided in Dave Forgie's pdf to order everything. The grand total for everything was $200.76. The Volvo 978161 connectors were ordered as well, for $8.40. The VW dealer had 60% of the parts in stock-the rest was ordered(grommets, pigtails, etc). This represents a significant savings from the $350+ for a pre-made solution so I'm very happy.

Everything should be here tuesday. :-) Wish me luck. Dave, any tips that aren't detailed in your pdf?

Default Don't use the hard plastic connectors on the coil packs. Use rubber ones like 034 does.

Good news on the 115R's. However, since your application is not OE, I doubt that the warranty would hold up. Regardless, I still wouldn't try the "20v turbo" cover.

But that's just my high horse, elitist, opinion (IMHHEO)(tm)

Default I have an unassembled bag of parts that I'd part with...

I bought them when I thought I was having ignition problems, but it turned out to be bad plugs. As I recall I have everything required except the volvo plugs that mate with the POS harness. I paid around $200 for the parts.

I also have a pile of multicolored high temperature wire that I bought for that project. I would also sell that at cost (which I would have to look up -- it was pretty expensive stuff though).
