Can anyone give insight on this?
Pulling away from a stop, the sunroof opened automatically, sliding completely back. The switch was in the closed position. I moved the switch to the open position, the sunroof tried gearing open further but it was open all the way and then stopped. When I turned the switch to the opposite position to the raised roof position, the sunroof came forward about a quarter inch and then stopped. I dropped the panel and hand cranked the roof closed.
Has anyone had this happen on their vehicle?
Is there a reset button?
Would it be a faulty switch or faulty motor?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

This should reset the roof. If that doesnt do it you may have a bad battery, in this case search the forum, many have posted on this subject in the past.
good luck.
good luck.

Like lukeskywalker6 said, try the battery thing first, the first time this happened to me it worked. As Driver4 said....it can be caused by a dead or bad battery. Mine had run down in charge and that's what caused it to open.
If not, the switch could use some attention. You'll need to make sure the contacts are touching correctly and might want to clean the switch. Took me about 1/2 hour and it works fine now. Search for my post in December about this, the proceedure is listed there by a fellow C4 owner. Good luck.

same intermitant problem on both my cars, not reat solution I know of except it happens less frequently after the battery power has been taken away for a while. The vehicle wiring harness snakes all over the car under the carpet and up the pillars to above the headliner, check for a pinched wire here the mouldings meet the carpet and headliner. The wiring may not be grounded completely but where?
