the 928 GTS calipers are same spec as 993TT caliper?

I have these calipers. Everything is the same except as you said, they are trailing design. 2 minutes and a wrench though and you can change that. I went with the 928GTS because they were $200 less then their red counterparts.

and yes you'll want an '02 A8L (D2 chassis) 323x30mm rotor

That doesn't mean you can't use it with RS2 brackets, but the 993TT and 928GTS/928S4 pads aren't the same, and I'm not sure the 928S4 will bolt up properly with the RS2 brackets and 322/323mm rotors.

I am very pleased with the setup. AFAIK the pads I bought were for both the Big Red 993tt and Big Black 928GTS. Everywhere I looked seemed to suggest that they use the same pad but I am not an expert. Anyway my brakes stop the car with the same effect as a brick wall would so I'd definately go this route again.

RS2 brackets from 034.
Slotted and plated rotors from Apikol. (I have some, and I lub them long time.)
Hawk HPS or Porsche Textar.
