Is there a write up anywhere in the change in the diffs between the 95 and 95.5 avants? I really like being able to lock the rears on 20V, and 'may'prefer a wagon set up this way. I assume you can't retro fit to the 95.5. Has anyone who has had both tell me what they think?
thx

You should be able to find a used diff for a few hundred bucks. Google up "torsen" and read until you pass out.

So torsen is mechanically internal to the diff, EDL works through the brakes, which you didn't change, so now you have both functions? If you grab a torsen from a 'lockable' car (200 20v) why can't you still have a locker? (wouldn't bother run vacuum sys, just a simple mechanical on/off?) Still wrapping my mind around the tech info. Just liked the original Q system where you could have 3 driven wheels all the time!

My car is both EDL and torsen.
The 200 20v rear diff is not torsen; it's a locker. Diffs are either one or the other, not both.
As I said before, the locker will confuse EDL. The torsen will actually benefit from EDL.

Like Jesus on Easter, I'm resurrecting this thread:
Is the v8 torsen standard Audi "plug n play", or does the transmission have to be changed as well?
