I'm running the 993tt calipers, RS2 bracket and S8 rotors with OEM Textar pads and OEM vibration pads.
For the first 2,000 to 3,000 km they were silent, but lately when pulling up to a stop with moderate brake pressure they squeal LOUD. This happens everytime and seems worse now that its cold out.
Today, I pulled the pads out and applied the "blue goop" to the back where the piston contacts and after a test drive the squeal was gone.
But after about 20 km, the squeal came back just as loud - damn it!
Any suggestions?

That the Hawk pads and others similiar have way too much metal in the pad material and that causes lots of micro vibration. The goop is just a band-aid. Since my pads are now really worn in though, a few hard stops and the pad material heats up enough that it doesn't squeal. I've noticed with mine, that heat is a big factor. The colder it is outside and the less I work the pads, the more they squeal.
