Default

Replace bushings first, then adjust.

Default I would mark anywhere there is an adjustment before any dissassembly.

It will give you a good place to start when you put it back together. If you don't you will be sad, especially without a lift and another person to help.

Ok lets pretend I've replaced the bushings. Now how do I go about adjusting?

Default IIRC, put the car in neutral with the shift at rest (between 3 and 4)...

...then go under and adjust so the shift is in the center of the boot. You'll need a helper.

It's a trial and error thing made much more difficult with old bushings.
