Default Any good remedies for clearcoat flaking on Porsche calipers?

Just noticed a huge spot right in the middle about 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 of flaking clearcoat, leaving a flat red color underneith. I didn't even realize these where a two-step process, I always assumed the Porsche/Brembo paint was an epoxy paint. Any one else experience this and done anything about it? I know they make an engine clear coat, I thought about masking the area off and shooting it with clear, but not sure. It kinda looks like crap now.

I'd be interested too. My 951 calipers have it bad.

Default Aren't they more of a flat finish anyway?

The 993's are so glossy and generally durable, I thought it would be some sort of a 1-coat epoxy deal.

You sure it's not enamel paint?

Default Maybe the paint is flatter but they still have a clearcoat that is cracking.

My 964's look nice though.

Default Being that there's a clear coat over it, it'd think so.

I didn't until the damn clear started flaking.

Default If they are.....

They are powder coated and then shot with a clear coat too. When I took my manifold to the powdercoaters, he was shooting some stuff with clear, so it must be a common practice.
