Anyone here run a 205/55/16 on the OEM UrS4 5 spoke rim? I'm wondering
if the narrowness will be too "stretched" on the 8' rim?
(I already have winter tires and was hoping to give them to my father in law for his UrS4).

That seems kinda skinny for an 8" wide wheel - plus you don't want to strech a snow tire....
...you want it to be as narrow as possible.
I'd either get skinnier wheels or proper sized tires (IMO of course)...

55 is a pretty tall sidewall, I think it could take the stretch.
205/55/16 fit fine on 16x7.5 AVUS and a Fuchs is only 1/2 inch wider.
Most of the super stretched tires you see dumb Volkswagens with are more like 225/45R17 on 9 or 10" wide wheels.
God I hate Volkswagens. =)

you can stretch a 205 to fit a 9" wheel without much trouble
it'll be a little stretched, but i think he'll be fine. of course, he will have to be extra-careful parallel parking.

this is what was on my car when I bought it. I replaced with 225/50 when those wore out as
the price difference was less than $5/tire.
Shouldn't be any trouble for him to use the tires.
