Default bilstein sprint on OEM springs?

what happens when you have this kind of mod?
on the rs2 there are no rear bilstein shocks that fit excactly on the model. So you get rear from either an S4 (BE3-6212) which you modify to lower the spring setting by 20mm,OR according to a german guy i bought the set from, you get the bilstein sprint rear BE3-2622 for A4quattro sedan, that fits perfectly with no modifications.

...but bilstein says use the sprint shocks with lowered springs!!Do you think i will have any problems with the OEM rear rs2 springs when fitted??

Default AFAIK, we only got "heavy duty" (HD) for stock height and "Sport" for shorter springs. Best not to

mix heights. I think putting HDs in with shorter springs is worse (more chance of bottoming out the shocks) than putting Sports into stock height springs. I presume "sprint" is close to "sport" in the above suggestion.

Default excactly as you say.So sport shock with springs OEM would have what effect??

would the shock reach its limit before the spring ever does?Is that a bad thing?
bilstein says that HD and sports have the same characteristics in handling, only the height is different

Most likely an issue in rebound when the spring pulls the shock piston UP (too far??)

Default If you can imagine bottoming out a shock with shorter springs, think up side down, with a taller

spring pulling up on a shorter shock until the piston on the shock hits the top of the bore. Not good.

Normal driving = probably no problem. Until one day, you hit a big dip in the road = compression (no problem), followed by rebound = BANG! Dude, what's that sound?

Nope. Use Bilstein HD ("heavy duty") with factory springs.
