Im wondering if the A8 312x25 rotor is the largest i can use on the bira1 system? Ddo you have to change calipers to go bigger? Can i use the boxster brackets that i have now with say a 993 or 996 caliper? Basically i want to upgrade to the largest size without going to the custom rotor/hat setup. Say the S8 323x30 rotors. Is there much of a difference between the boxster(nonS), 993 and 996 calipers? Just still need to fit under 17s for the winter. Lots of question, just dont know my options,. Thanks.

Opt#1-If you want to use the BIRA system then you need to use the 312 rotors with the Boxster calipers & brackets.
Opt#2-If you want the biggest brakes *known* possible then you need a special caliper bracket to let you run Cayenne 6-pot's with 330mm Mercedes disks, but you *may* possible kill your bias.
Opt#3-If you want to use your 17's you could use the RS2 brackets with A8/S8 323mm X 30mm rotors with 993TT/928GTS calipers as long as your offset allows it.
In the past most have done Opt#3 and were happy with the results

BIRA System 1 brackets ONLY work for Boxster calipers and A8 312 x 25 rotors. All other options you suggested need different brackets and rotors as Mr. Lloyd points out below.

I saw a DIY, showing that you can use up to the 323x30 rotors with these calipers, the pad just doesnt cover the edge closest to the rotor hat. Your opinion? I want to do this soon, lots of shaking when braking.

Ok, bringing this back up. So i know i have the Bira stg3, 314x30 with Porsche monoblocks. Im trying to get rotors, specifically Adam's rotors from Audizine(the dimpled, slotted, coated ones). He is having a hard time finding blanks in this size and for a good price to even come close to his normal advertised prices. I have read that 99 A8 are 314x30, but everytime i search parts places, they show a 312x25. Is there another rotor that is easier to acquire. Looking the 314x30 p/n (441 615 301 AA)on ecstuning site shows it $160/set which is only 80$ more than a set of B5s4 rotors. Is it that hard to find these??? Help me out!?

I don't understand your question, you say you have found them, but then say they are hard to find?
441 615 301 AA is a Euro market application but avail here. I paid $110 a set a while back when the $ had some value. 4D0 615 301 A would be identical dimensionally except that it is 323mm diameter vs 314mm.
