Default Yes, this is quite a different world than my beloved MK1's....LOL

Default I had a hot-rod Mk1 1980 Jetta. I remember jumpering the FP relay (bad ground or something). Had lot

s of fun in that car. Was in the Saskatoon Sports car club. Won best in class for the summer of 1985 salaom season. Had few FTDs in there as well even again some big guns.

All was fun until I over revved it racing a TransAM (Duh). Probably hit 8K on stock valve springs = bent valve. Oh, well. Only 1 day and a few dollars to fix. (Not like these 20vt engines).

Default LOL, yeah a snapped timing belt in a MK1 only means a new belt and quick zeroing

Even with a shaved head.......
I do love my JH with the twin weber 45's, we'll have to see how it goes this spring, I know it's gonna be hard to part with.

How long ago did you live in Toon town?

Default wait, you CAN'T Jumper the relay?

why did like 4 people tell me you could?
We tried jumping 32, 31 and 30.
fuel pump turns on, but car wouldn't start
so, that was just a waste of time I guess?

I'd LOVE for that to have not worked, simply because I haven't tried a 'known good' relay. I'm hoping the relay is truly my issue. If not, I'm just gonna have to send it to a shop. I can't go another week without my car.

ooo... I just realized the biggest issue with the forum switchover in regards to old thread: the linearity of it will make a LOT of previous conversations disjointed.
