That turbo doesn't even make full boost until 4900 RPM. If you want good power in 5th @ 2500
Stick with the K24 or a 2871. The whole point of the post is for big HP cars with big turbos that by design give up low RPM power for big top end.

Any idea on meeting CARB emissions standards or is this for an off-road vehicle only?
I have concerns about using a high lift, long duration cam, like the 7A and still meeting "AirCare" etc. standards on a turbo engine. I suspect the RS2 is not as bad as the 7A in this regard.

We've never had an emissions related issue on the 7a cams, they're not that agressive.
They came in lots of CA CARB'ed cars. This is a stock cam, made to go in a stock 20v motor and be able to pass smog just fine.

Yep. I guess I would rather see a 7A vs RS2 vs Stock cam test on an RS2 turbo.
A big turbo like that, to me, just is not liveable for a daily driver. Maybe a track car but not a DD.

But that wasn't the point of his post, I think.
The point is, the 7A cam let's the motor breathe better up top, allowing the turbo to feed it more air and giving more power up there.
i think the conclusion here is that no matter what turbo you have, 7A cam will give you more power up top. the bigger the turbo the bigger the gain differential.
If you are after 2-3K rpm cruising, then why even upgrade your turbo...even to RS2 one?? Even that thing is laggy...probably more laggy than GT turbo of similar size.

I'd think that would depend on the parameters of the test
I'd doubt the test would push the system to full boost. Aren't the tests run at steady state rpms and low ones at that? Don't know for sure myself. Here in TX there is a two speed test. One at idle and one between 2200 and 2800 rpm.
