Delta CC radio code not working
I disconnected the battery to work on the transmission and am now unable to get the radio working again. I do have a code in my manual which I confirmed with $ from the stealer, and the radio matches the VIN so the code wasn't different. It just won't get out of SAFE mode. Does this mean the radio is locked beyond fix and I should invest in another unit?
(I searched but only found posts linked to code entry procedures, none on correct code but stuck radio)

The radio is staying put in SAFE mode.
After entry of the correct code, the SAFE sign just blinks and the radio goes back to SAFE mode. It's as if the code is incorrect but like I said, I've confirmed it to be the right one.
As far as entry of code, I've followed the right procedure in terms of holding FM1/DX until 1000 appears, then using 1-4 station keys to input the code and lastly holding FM1/DX keys again to input the code.
Concert I is the '96 A4 radio, correct?

So you are able to input the code, but the radio doesn't like it.
Is the code printed on the original card with the radio serial number on it? Does the number match?
This could either be the wrong code or a bad radio. If it's the latter, it's time to replace the radio.

Yes sir. I can input the code
but the radio just refuses to take it. I guess it IS time for a replacement.
Question is why would a perfectly working radio just quit on me due to disconnection of the battery?

I have the exact same problem
My Delta radio on a '96 A4 is not taking the radio code after disconnecting the battery during some repair work. I have the original Radio Card from Audi and have used the code successfully many times.
The only difference now is when I input the code from the card, the "SAFE" blinks three times on the display. The dealer thinks that blinking indicates something and is checking into it. I'll respond when I have their answer.

Re: Delta CC radio code not working
I know this is old, but did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem with a symphony. The code and number are there, but it won't accept the code. The dealer said I need to have the radio pulled and get all the numbers on the side to make sure it isn't a replacement of the original....
