Gents..my car has been sitting idle for nearly 4 months...today while getting on her a bit I got audible detonation w/ window down and she cut out like nearly the fuel pump was shutting off. Now the gas is nearly 4 months old so I filled up w/ 1/2 tank (full) of prem and added some octane boost but still is cutting out. Perhaps didnt drive her enough only like 5-10 minutes after fill-up until I parked her..

Thoughts?

just do a nice freeway road trip. it'll break in the motor AND eat up the old gas

By better gas I mean a FULL tank. Octane booster doesn't do anything. Use two or three gallons of Xylene if you're concerned.

I'd suck the old gas out, and replace with new, especially with the new bearings.

Did you have Jonesey cc the combustion chamber to see what the actual compression ratio is?

but a slightly loose CPS...took 2 seconds to fix. The car now is "perfect" and did I say "scary" fast ;-)
