The paint is a little tired, and missing in some spots, though no rust. Interior is in good shape, soft leather, panel around the sunroof controls is sagging.
The only major problem I could see was the turbo/motor was feeling its age (about 210K). Car is chipped, but my car (stock)has alot more get up and go. Bushings feeling old. Oh yeah, and the bright, bright, green coolant that some shop put in.
The guy selling it (Dennis) is probably the most **** retentive guy about maintenance I have met, which is a GREAT thing. I started asking about what has been done, and when. He gets out his Blackberry and starts rattling off what was done, mileage, and who did the work.
IMHO, the car is an great candidate to pull the motor, overhaul it, and go RS2 or better. I think Dennis would have let it go for about $5,500 (or less), as he is trying to sell another car as well.
I really hope it ended up in an enthusiast's hands.
