Do our Scars A/C systems use an orifice tube or expansion valve setup?

i believe it's technically an expansion valve. it's inserted in the junction in the small tube closest to the evaporator. there are crimps in the tube to keep it from being pushed in too far.
look at the actual expansion valve piece. it will have a tiny little arrow on it, or a diagram on the bottom of the box, showing the correct orientation. i put mine in backward when i rebuilt the AC, didn't see the diagram until i went to throw out the box. d'oh! still works fine but makes a hissing noise after shutdown.
