Default Sean, you can take it to a driveline shop and have it rebuilt and balanced.

You are in a major city there must be at least one good driveline shop. This is what I would do, I think you should get a 3 series BMW carrier bearing and weld it to the original bracket or have the driveline shop do it and then balance it, or just take it to the driveline shop and have them fix the whole Damn thing. You definitely do not need a new driveline. I have used Drivelines NW here in Seattle for better than twenty five years and they have rebuilt all sorts of different drivelines for me over the years, from Buicks to BMW's. I am sure there is something similar in Van City. What a pain is the *** though, I feel for ya.

I bought a center bearing from Drivelines NW specific to S6 and it fit perfectly.

Default Well...I was saving the one I have for a rainy day..but if you want to come pick it up..

I have one I could sell you . It just needs to be balanced.

Bearings are all solid. The labor to balance one can't be that much.

I'm in NY.

Default The shaft should not be straight. U-joints don't like that.

Any driveshaft/U-joint design I've ever seen has a minimum as well as a maximum deflection angle. They are never designed to be straight. The joint needs a slight angle to operate smoothly. That is for sure the cause of your vibration under load.

Default Interesting. The driveshaft is straight with no load, but under load it angles

The vibration only happens under load (when the driveshaft is bent).

This seems contrary to the manual.
