I ran them on my old '91 318is. It took a lot to break em loose, but I was also working with a scorching 135 hp, so that's not saying much!
But, the way I bought tires for that car was I looked for the worst treadwear rating at lowest price. Rather scientific, isn't it??
I think you could do better with a Bridgestone or Michelin product, but their max performance summer tires were twice as much.
BTW, I do have Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's on my Ur-S6. These are the same tires that come standard on the Ferrari 360, Enzo and AMG S55. I bought them on tire rack closeout for $87 a tire. I'm very impressed, thus far, but never pushed it like you would on a track.
