I have a complete sunroof assembly from Coupe quattro I don't need....maybe some parts could be swapped over. You are welcome to come take a look and have it if you need it.

i know the pix are horrible but all i had was my phone.....i had the same problem with mine and after seing your post today i decided to get it done the cheap way
it really works, the sunroof tilts opens and closes with the tray after ....drill tiny holes above and below the break, in the arms/claws or whatever you call them
just as it would normally be in one piece, run a zip tie through the holes and get it tight
put some crazy gloe for more stiffness and enjoy the sunroof again

Mine started with JUST this problem, but has progressed to other problems, gremlins and cracking noises...

To the point where I've decided to replace the entire sunroof assembly.
